Earthen Structures

Earthen Structures
HOURS: 6

Working with onsite systems requires a good understanding of using soil as a construction material.

The purpose of this course is to discuss soil and water characteristics in depth and go over the principles of soil compaction.  The best designed system can be compromised by improper handling of the soil component. Learn how to keep this most important part of the onsite system working for you, not against you. All aspects of sewage lagoons will be discussed including design, cuts and fills, layout and staking, overflow and controlled irrigation. At-grade systems and interceptor drains will also be covered.
